Well, it was a long race weekend in Homestead, FL for the Ford Championship 2004 weekend.  Len and I watched a lot of history made as Dodge won a championship with Bobby Hamilton driving his truck to a 16th place finish and secured his Championship victory in the Craftsmen Truck Series, while Kasey Kahne won the 200 mile race.  You can see the Craftsman truck race results at NASCAR.com for all the details.

During the truck race we watched a lot of trucks lose it in turn 4.  The sun was setting and from about the time the race started turns 1 and 2 were in the shadow while turns 3 and 4 were still warm with sunlight.  I guess they hit 3/4 with the same speed as they did 1/2 but with the warmer track and less grip they got loose.  After seeing this happen in turn 4 so many times I decided to get up by the media tower in turn one and watch the action, below is what I saw about 8 laps later.  Just click on the picture for a larger view.

Here you see Bobby Labonte getting too loose in turn 4 and he lost it.  He had one of the fastest trucks for most of the day but after flat-spotting his tires here, he was no longer a factor (he also lost the engine later).  I was real lucky to get these shots.
